The 84th Academy Awards- Οι Υποψηφιότητες
Ανακοινώθηκαν οι υποψηφιότητες για τα 84α βραβεία Oscar, με την ταινία Hugo του Martin Scorsese να αποσπά 11 υποψηφιότητες και την ταινία The Artist (Χρυσή Σφαίρα Καλύτερης Κωμωδίας/Μουσικαλ) να αποσπά 10 υποψηφιότητες.
Η Meryl Streep (Χρυσή Σφαίρα Α γυναικείου ρόλου για το Iron Lady) απέσπασε την 17η υποψηφιότητα της, παρέα με τη εκπληκτική Glenn Close για τον ομώνυμο ρόλο της στην ταινία Albert Nobbs.
Το Oscar Α ανδρικού ρόλου διεκδικεί ο George Clooney για τον ρόλο του στην ταινία Τhe Descendants (Χρυσή Σφαίρα α ανδρικού ρόλου για την ίδια ταινία) αλλά και ο Brad Pitt για το ρόλο του στην ταινία Moneyball
Την βραδιά θα παρουσιάσει ύστερα από πολλά χρόνια ο Billy Crystal ενώ την βραδιά θα μεταδώσει στην Ελλάδα τα ξημερώματα της Δευτέρας 27 Φεβρουαρίου (1:00 Αφίξεις καλεσμένων, 2:00 Pre Show, 3:30 Τελετή Απονομής) η Nova μέσω του Novacinema HD & Novacimena 1 με ελληνικό σχολιασμό από τους Πόλυ Λυκούργου και Γιώργο Κρασσακόπουλο και σε Original μετάδοση από το κανάλι NovaStars.
